Every so often the small world of the direct sales business is hit with some sort of “scandal” and the social world goes to town blowing up with rumours, accusations and bullshit. From a Leader leaving company XYZ or company HYK is front loaded paying out largely on recruiting making it a possible illegal pyramid. These things hit our airwaves every few months of so. And while I love love love Olivia Pope on ABC I am not a fan of the rumours and drama in real life.
Ryan and I pride our selves in not being involved in the “MLM world” as it can be dramatic and in reality it brings little value to us and our personal team or businesses. But we do have our personal experience in which we want to offer some details as to why a TOP Leaders will leave a company and a few reasons why we left our last company. The place we called Home, where we had our first big run, built a team over 11,000 of customers and promoters, over 1,000,000+ in earnings, Millions and Millions in sales and relationships we valued.

The Big Secrets on Why Leaders Leave
Secret #1 – Big leaders don’t leave because of comp plans, they leave because they have exhausted all options and feel that the team can no longer win with the model.
Secret #2 – It breaks their hearts to leave.
Secret #3 – Its months and months of sleepless nights, stress and worry. Leaders never leave just to go to the next deal leaders leave to what they feel is right not only for their family but for their teams family too.
Secret #4 – Most people NEVER get a deal or take the deal. And by deal yes I mean money – yes people get paid. But the grand majority of leaders are not going for a check, because the check doesn’t create stability, make an awesome comp plan or help with retention. That check will not change a broken model or a confusing system. I want to also make it very clear, I have no problem with someone taking a “bridge” to go to another company this is business. But I DO have a problem with fake leaders who take the money and run after its expired.
Secret #5 – Its not about changing the dream of more time, vacations, less debt and quitting your 9-5 its about changing to a model that works or will provide the best chance for our team.
Secret #6 – It is no fun if we are the only ones making money and our team is not.
Secret #7- There is a ton of smoke and mirrors with direct sales. Good people do not want to put up with lies and scandals they leave to a corporate team the can trust.
Secret #8 – Leadership of the old company will often spin a leader leaving and will make up any reason they can to discredit them – do not get involved with this. Always put your self in their situation and realize you may never know the truth. Just what a disgruntled up-line or ownership is saying.
Secret #9 – Starting over again is scary and is a huge commitment for a leader who has built up a large organization and pay check.
Secret #10 – A leader never wants to make a mistake when choosing a new home – there for months and months go into making their decision. Hours of calls, research and dissection of company after company.
I really could go on and on – but we really wanted to just share with you that 9 times our of 10 you will never know the entire truth and that’s just the nature of the business both because of people and because companies will often threaten to sue if that leader shares or contacts anyone.
As a lovers of this industry and as a couple who once left the company we called home to find a better fit we want to encourage you to look beyond the smoke and mirrors.
If you are no longer living the dream and have gone from inviting people to your dream and now to your nightmare you might understand now why people have got to leave.
